Venice Captain's Wine Decanter

A traditional shaped decanter for red wine aeration, presentation and serving. Like all "ship" decanters the Captain's decanter has a broad base originally used to prevent tipping on the rolling waves but now mostly a design consideration. The center is wide, to provide a large surface area for the wine to breathe. You want a maximum surface area for the wine - combined with a minimal chance for the wine to spill.

NOT Dishwasher Safe!
